Music is an integral part of the liturgy. We are blessed to have a wealth of beautiful Catholic music with which to worship the Lord our God. At Sacred Heart, there are many opportunities for those blessed with the gift of music to share their talents in order to give Glory to God through service and worship at the altar of the Lord.
“Shout joyfully to the Lord, all you lands; worship the Lord with cries of gladness; come before Him with Joyful song.” Ps. 100: 1-2
Adult Choir
The Adult Choir consists of adults and some older teens. They sing at least once a month and for Christmas, Holy Week, Forty Hours, Holy Days and other occasions deemed appropriate and necessary. Adult Choir practices on Thursday evenings from 7-8:30 PM in the choir loft.
Cantors
A cantor is a leader of song. As such, it is important for the cantor to be well-rehearsed, comfortable and confident so that they are able to give their best in helping to lead the assembly in song. Commitment to weekly practice is very important and necessary. Cantors practice either on Wednesday evenings or Thursday evenings as mutually agreed upon and whatever is most convenient for the cantor and music director. Cantors can be younger or young at heart.

Children’s Choir
The Children’s Choir will sing monthly at the Religious Education Youth Masses at 10:30 A.M. as well as at the Religious Education Christmas Program, Christmas Eve, and any other times deemed necessary or appropriate (such as First Reconciliation, and First Communion, Stations of the Cross, etc.) The Children’s Choir is open to children ages 5 (Kindergarten) to 8th grade.
Let us greet Him with a song of praise, joyfully shout out our psalms. Ps. 95:2
I will sing to the Lord all of my life; I will sing praise to my God while I live. May my theme be pleasing to God, I will rejoice in the Lord. Ps. 104:33-34
Contemporary Choir/Band
This brand-new group that is forming! This group is open to students (ages 8th grade and up) and young adults or adults. Ideally this group will be composed of mostly student leaders and instrumentalists with adults facilitating. We will be providing music for the Contemporary Masses that will occur during the 10:30 A.M. Mass.

Musical Instrumentalists
We are always looking for either students or adults to share their musical abilities with us through their lovely addition to the liturgy with the use of their musical instrument. You must have been playing your instrument for at least one year. The instrumentalists will be utilized through the year at any liturgies, and could also be used with Youth Masses, and Contemporary Masses. A mutually agreed upon practice schedule on Wednesday or Thursday evening will be drawn up between the music director and instrumentalists.
